An applicant, upon learning of the Dragon Talon Mercenaries, will be required to post their application
stating their reasons and specific qualities, which they believe, endear them to the Dragon Talon
Mercenaries. At which time, the applicant will begin wearing their ADTM tag. All applications must be
posted in the forum that corresponds with their in-game nickname.
All applicants will be required to read the Dragon Talon Mercenaries Code of Conduct, The
Newbie/Join section of the Dragon Talon Mercenaries webpage, and this document before being allowed
to accept sponsors.
The Applicant must aquire 5 total sponsors. Upon gaining 3 sponsors, the Applicant
must E-mail or otherwise contact Jester. The applicant will
then be promoted to the Probationary stage where the Applican must then aquire 2 more sponsors. |
Each full Dragon Talon Mercenary will be required to adhere to strict guidelines relating to the
choosing of Applicants and the allotment of Sponsors. Sponsors will be posted to the Applicants
application and be cumulative until the Applicant has received a sponsor from a minimum of 10% of
the entire membership roster. The bar of required sponsors will be made current periodically as the
membership roster exceeds 50 and its multiples (100, 150) |
No votes can be posted on any application at any time during this process, the poster of the *no* vote
is responsible for letting the applicant know how they violated our Code of Conduct, asking for an
explanation of the applicants actions, and letting them know how they can resolve the issue. If the
person who wishes to cast the *no* vote does not feel up to this task, they can appraise another full
member of the situation, and let them act as their proxy - fullfilling this duty for them. If a full
member is confronted with behavior that they believe is unbefitting a Dragon Talon Mercenary or in
direct opposition of the Code of Conduct they are to confront the Applicant in a private manner,
whether in IRC or through E-mail (or again - through another full member by way of proxy).
If the Applicant shows any sign of disregard for the established Code of Conduct then a *no* vote is to be
posted with a clear and concise (non-flammatory) description of how the applicant violated our Code
of Conduct. However, if there is sign of regret or an acceptable excuse for said behavior, then the
infraction is to be noted (internally) and left at that. Immediately upon receiving a *no* vote the
Applicants Application is to be locked and all sponsorships held. It is then up to the Applicant and
the initial poster of the *no* Vote to come to an agreement. If no such agreement can be reached, there
will be a 2 two-week suspension on that applicants application - and the applicant will lose their
sponsors they currently have. The poster of the *no* vote may not post a second *no* vote at the end
of this period without reasonable and current excuses. |
After achieving the 10% benchmark, applicants will be required to stop wearing their ADTM tag and start
wearing the PDTM tag, indicating that the Applicant has now attained Probationary status. This tag
cannot be worn until the Sunday after he or she has received return E-mail from Spectre.
The Probationary members application will be moved to the Invite Forum and unlocked in
preparation for receiving the endorsements that will follow.
The Probationary period is indefinate, but a minimum of 2 weeks. During
this time the Probationary member will be required to gain an additional
3 sponsors endorsement on top of the initial 10% gained in the Application
process. Also, during this time Probationary members will be susceptible
to *no* votes regardless of sponsorship qualifications.
After receiving the additional 3 sponsors, the Probationary member will
be admitted into the Dragon Talon Mercenaries as a full member.
This policy has been written by and approved by the current Dragon Talon
Mercenary members, and shall remain binding until such date they choose
to revamp this system. If there are any questions due to the content of
this document, then please contact Gryphon. |
My thanks goes out to all of the members who worked hard to create this just system for allowing new
applicants into our organization. Thanks.

Do not badger a DTM member for sponsorship, he/she will give it when they determine it is earned and
not before. Badgering members will work against you. It is acceptable to announce ONCE in a game that
you wish to be "watched", however that may be redundant as your ADTM tag tells us that you
are an applicant...we know what to do from there!
Do not SPAM in channels, or in game. This will of course bring you attention from DTM members, but
it will not be the type of attention you seek.
When asked a question, or you receive a comment about your behavior be honest in your reply. We all
make mistakes at times and being honest will actually benefit you if something comes up adverse to your
membership.
Above all, remember we are a guild that transcends talent and skill, in favor of honor, fairness and
sportsmanship. We value team play over skill. The DTM doesn't care if you are a great player, just
that you are great to play with. Show a willingness to help your team however you can and to interact
in a positive manner with other players and don't worry too much if you can't Mid-Air Disk or ski a
great capping route. We are always ready to help out those less learned players when we can.
Good luck!
